August the 15th in Amorgos
On this day, visitors of Amorgos and more specifically, of Katapola, have the opportunity to experience a unique event. After the Mass, follows the litany of the icon of the Virgin Mary, accompanied by fishing boats with horns and smoke signals. An island celebration takes place on the square in the evening, one of the biggest events in Amorgos.
